I. Wire Unit
1. Main Signal Center
a. The preventive maintenance schedule for the month of May is
current's
b. The Terminal Relay ASR has been modified for low level keying
using R-20E relays. Drawings were made up for drafting.
c. The NPIC/OCR Cifax System has been reliable since it became
operational on 29 April 1966.
d. Engineering tests are being made on a low level circuit from
the Crypto Facility to the Primary Facility utilizing a
numbering module with a gold plated wiper switch. So far, the
test has been satisfactory.

ELECTRONIC/TELETYPE REHAB UNIT
1. The Electronic Technicians processed one hundred ninety-one items
of PTI equipment, twenty-seven items on job orders, and twenty
items on repair requests.
2. There were no major pieces of teletype equipment processed this
month, but twenty-eight minor items were processed.
3. Approximately seventy man-hours were expended on teletype equip-
ment for the 8 PAC Project.

3. One hundred eighty PRC-10 units were processed from C-5 stock
to C-1 stock.
CRYSTAL UNIT
The CR-78 and the CR-81 crystals for FTS stock have begun to
arrive. Indications are that delivery will be finished by August;
two months ahead of schedule.

ENGINEERING UNIT
1. All commercial literature for OC Standard Test Equipment Cata-
logues was delivered to the Drafting Unit for assembly.
2. The Quarterly Test Equipment Status List was revised, and two
changes were recommended.
Test Procedures for the BS/D-48 Power Supply and the ASR-100
Transceiver have been completed. The ASR-100 procedure will
be of little use to the field until additional ASR-100 Test Jigs
are supplied by

pleted on 20 May. The purpose of the trip was to inspect and
evaluate an Alignment Test Set for the ASR-100.
5. In a conversation with Mr. MMM
poration, it was pointed out that intends to go into an
extensive repackaging program over the next two years. Solid
state components will be emphasized up to a frequency value of
5 Gc. No actual dates were given, but evidently the program
is firm and has already been initiated.

to service, and two pieces of equipment were processed for cargo.

is evidently having a great deal of trouble with
our 1L1O Spectrum Analyzer. They have returned it three times,
and in every case it did not perform satisfactory. They loaned
us a new unit, but it did not work either. No solution has
been found to the problem as of this date.
3. The Frequency Standard, Error Expander, VLF Receiver, Distri-
bution Amplifier, and a Communications Receiver are mounted
in a nineteen inch rack located in the calibration room. The
next step will be to run coaxial cable to the Electronic
Counters in the Crystal Lab.
N4ECHAHICAL UNIT
1. The TIN-E-MITE fork lift from was 25X1A5a1
received and checked. It is presently being evaluated.
2. Four heads for use with the vacuum plater are about ninety per
cent completed.
POWER UNIT
i. The_ Tower power unit was checked out, and arrangements made
to check the system every two weeks.
2. Both Commo/Buda diesel trucks are now running normally. They
will be checked out on a routine basis from now on.
3. Operationally or visually checked ten power units this month
25X1A6b plus the usual minor inspections of small parts.
