Project Status: The base and field unit is now in final assembly. All integrated circuits have been delivered by and have met specifications. The unexpected problem of lateral conductivity in the photo conductors of the tubes being delivered by Division seems to have been solved. Mr. indicated that due to the need now to construct and test an additional number of. tubes they may overrun the contract as much as $10,000 and require as much as two weeks time extension. I suggested they send a letter giving their best estimate of what will be required to complete the project and that they request the contract be modified accordingly. I also suggested they include whatever increase in scope necessary to provide eight additional battery packs to be used in the RF link. The eight battery packs will probably cost around $2500. In review, with the exception of the tubes the remainder of the project is on schedule. All parts have been delivered or fabricated as the case may be and the units are in final assembly. Final testing will begin as the latest tubes are delivered. The final field unit tube will be of the meshless type.
