1. CK-100 CODER/KEYER
The CK-100 coder/keyer is a special configuration of CK-8
coder/keyer components for use with the RS-100. As origi-
nally envisioned, the RS-100 contained a KE/A-8 wired into
the set and storage space for a CO-8 coder and CA-3 car-
tridge. A cover over these three components rendered the
RS-100 waterproof; however, when either coding or keying,
the set was no longer waterproof. In April 1964, a con-
tract for $37,659.00 was initiated with
to reconfigure the CK-8 components and
mount them on one panel whose size and shape would permit
mounting in the RS-100. All controls are available from
the panel and are waterproof. This eliminates the need for
a cover on the CK-8 section of the RS-100 and provides com-
plete access to all controls.
The engineering model of the CK-100 was delivered this month.
It was mounted in the CK-8 storage section of the RS-100 and
subjected to a four foot drop test and an immersion test.
The deficiencies noted were of a minor nature and, for the
most part, mechanical and electrical operations were satis-
factory after the tests. It is now planned to procure
thirty service test models of the CK-100 for use with the
twenty RS-100's that are ordered - ten for December delivery
and ten for April delivery.

of DD/S&T, visited the R&D Laboratory on 19 November.
These gentlemen were given a complete tour of the facilities
and comprehensive discussions of the Laboratory's design and
fabrication facilities. They were also provided the oppor-
tunity to see the RS-508 (which= developed) in operation
during its A&A.

25X1A9a 2. Mr. departed TDY for on 2
November. Upon completion of his official duties, Mr. _
met his wife in Frankfurt where he will spend approximately
two weeks on annual leave. He is due back o/a 8 December.
3. Effective with the pay period commencing 22 November, contract
assemblers wages at the Laboratory were raised from $1.76 to
$1.81 per hour. This increase is in keeping with our-policy
of increasing our contract wages when a general government pay
raise occurs.
4. The value of equipment fabricated at the R&D Laboratory and
delivered to the warehouse for stock this month was 42,400.
1. Two antenna design projects culminated during this reporting
period with notably successful results.
