This directory is intended to provide in easily accessible
form basic information, including the identification of persons,
on an international Communist front organization and its
national affiliates. Since these organizations, in spite of
Communist control, are not composed exclusively of Communist
party members, the inclusion of any specific name in the
directory should not be considered as evidence of Communist
party affiliation. Experience has shown, however, that the
proportion of Communists is highest among those persons
occupying positions as functionaries in the international
bodies of these fronts.
It is recommended that those holding the directory
annotate the personal entries under the national affiliates of
primary concern to show Communist party membership
wherever this fact is known.
