1. We are procceciin with the review and analysis of
reporting systems in the Support Pirect:orate as outllueu in your
memorandum of 1.2 November. The success of our effort, as you have
recognized, will be completely dependent upon the degree of
cooperation we receive from, the other Directorates and OPPi,, We
will keep you informed of our progress and seek your help with
problc;is if we need it as we ;.;o a o T. an still concerned,
however, about the tC)t.al scope of the program, its long Lc-Lm rm im-
plicaLions, and how t )e Agency to deal with it. Problems
and studies of this sox -L are miore effectively dealt with at the
Agency level rather than subordinate echelons.
