1. I an Agency retiree under
CIARDS, caned for a status report on the proposed amendments to
CIARDS, particularly the second spouse provision, which I provided him.
Economic Committee, called to alert us of tentative plans to schedule
a briefing of the Joint Economic Committee in April, after the Easter
recess, and also to determine the outcome of the points we agreed to
give some thou ht to as a result of our 30 January meeting with him.
OCI, has been advised.
on Internal Security, Senate Judiciary Committee, called to determine if we
had developed any information we could ossibl share with him or
Senator James Eastland (D., Miss.) on ho 25X1
apparently has made a number of trips to Poland in the 1960' s. I told
Sourwine we would look into the matter but if this involves an American
citizen we may not be able to be of assistance. Sourwine understood this.
4? I I Called Les Janka, NSC staff, and
informed him that we were in receipt of a request from Chairman Melvin
Price, House Armed Services Committee, to comment on H Res 205,
directing the Secretary of Defense to provide certain information relating
to Chile. Janka said they had just focused an this resolution and believes
they would want to handle it in a manner consistent with the handling of
House Resolutions 206 and 207 by Mr. Marsh, White House, and Mr.
McCloskey, State, yesterday. It was agreed that we would not do anything
further until we hear from him and that he would let us know the outcome
hopefully before the end of the day.
