called about a resolution of inquiry (actually there are two, H. Res. 536
and 537) concerning the Mayaguez incident. According to Goldberg, the
resolution poses a number of questions, all of which State is able to
answer except for number 7. This item raises a question of whether there
were any covert operations being conducted in the Cambodian area after
April of 1975. Goldberg feels that State would have to give a qualified
answer to this question (i. e. , State knows of no covert activities... )
and then either refer Representative Thomas E. Morgan (D. , Pa.) to
the Agency or indicate that State is following up with other appropriate
agencies.
16. (Unclassified - BAA) Received call from Mr. Shay. of the 25X1
Senate Select Committee staff, saying that
suggested he call us to make arrangements for him to
transcript and court papers. After checking with
that he should call Mr. Hank Knoche, Assistant to the
request. Mr. Knoche's office was advised.
