9. (Unclassified - PLC) LEGISLATION Ralph Malvik, OMB
called and inquired as to whether we had submitted an Inflationary
Impact Statement with our revised proposal to amend CIARDS Act. I
told him that we had submitted such a statement to OMB with our
prior draft earlier this year. Malvik said no further statement will
be necessary.
10. (Internal Use Only - PLC) CONSTITUENT Cathy Parham,
secretary to Representative Bob Wilson (R. , Calif.) called and said
that she would be handling the request b Mr. Wilson for the Director
to meet with a constituent, I gave her the background STAT
of the case and she said she would call us back next: week after she has
discussed the matter with Mr. Wilson.
11. (Unclassified - PLC) LIAISON After a discussion with
I lOS, I called Mark Jones, Personnel Officer, Federal
Reserve Board, in response to his call of Monday inquiring as to
whether the Black Muslims was included in a listing of organizations
that we require applicants to. review for possible affiliation. I explained
that under a recent order for all Government agencies, no listing of
organizations such as the "Attorney General's List" is to be used in
the processing of persons for employment. Therefore,, we have no
such listing.

Sue, on the staff of Representative William J. Hughes (D. , N. J. ), who
requested page size maps of several Middle East countries. I told her I
would put these in the mail to her along with a brochure outlining the naps
available from the Government Printing Office. STAT
8. (Un.classified - DFM) LEGISLATION I. absence,
took a call from Bill Jones, INR /State' Department, regarding the Agency's
comments to OOM.BSZ,n the State Department position on H. R. 1311. OMB bas
sent our letter to the National Security Council for comments and the State
and Justice Departments for information. Jones does not agree with the
position in our letter, i. e. that the bill could be interpreted to prevent certain
covert actions, but was unsure regarding how the State Department: would
respond.
