(Unclassified - DFM) LIAISON Received a call from Paul Hoff, on the Senate Government Operations Committee staff, who said he was preparing for a meeting with Senator Abraham Ribicoff (D., Conn. ), Chairman of the Committee. Hoff wondered if a decision had been made on the Director's testimony in late January on the subject of congressional oversight. He emphasized the Committee's desire to have Mr. Colby testify regardless of the status of Ambassador Bush's nomination. I told him a decision had not yet been made, but that I would press for a quick one. 3. (Unclassified - DFM) LEGISLATION Received a call from Ted Dobbs, Congressional Relations at the State Department, who informed me that the I-louse International Relations Committee had agreed on. an amendment by Representative Dante Fascell (D., Fla.) putting conditions on any U. S. aid to Angola. 4. (Unclassified -- DFM) LIAISON Called Jack Brady, House International Relations Committee staff, and received details regarding the information he had requested on covert action earlier from Mr. Cary. I arranged to deliver the material to Brady within the next few days. 5. (Unclassified - RC) INTEL BRIEFINGS ON CHINA/ANGOLA I accompanied OGCR, to brief Congresswomen Margaret Heckler,(R., Mass. ), Lindy Boggs (D., La. ), Yvonne Burke (D., Calif.), :Patricia Schroeder (D., Colo. ), Gladys Spellman (D., Md.), Elizabeth Holtzman (D., N. Y. ), Millicent Fenwick (R., N. J. ), and Helen Meyner. (D. , N. Y.) on Angola ancl~~ The foregoing are members of the women's congressional delegation that will visit China from. 26 December 1975 to 10 January 1976.
