See Memorandum for the Record. Milford brought up the subject of his planned trip to ?".tjtralia,. New Zealand, and Indonesia, which is planned tentatively for 3 - 17 January 1976. He will be travelling with. the House Armed Services Committee but will have his own separate schedule. 1. I I BRIEFING I accorripanied He plans to leave for Texas as soon as Congress adjourns so the briefing will have to take place prior to that time,. I told him I would discuss the matter and get back to him.. I later called Milford's Administrative Assistant, Dick White, to set up a time for the briefing. It will be given on 17 December at 1430 hours in Milford's office. Security will sweep and monitor. The briefing will be handled by Les Dirks, C:/Ob&;E/DDS&T. 2. BRIEFING I accompanied Chief, Africa Division, to a briefing of Sena.tor. Strom '.I hurrnond (R. , S. Car.) on all aspects of the Angola situation. At the outset, Senator Thurmond called in three members of his staff to it in on the briefing. However, I mentioned to Edward Kenney, on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee, that certain information that we were going to provide should be given to only the Senator. Kenney mentioned this to the Senator and he asked the staff members as well as the secretary to leave, which they did. 25X1A 3.
