Mail, and Labor Management, called to inquire as to when they would
be receiving the letter from the Director confirming the acceptance to
appear before the Subcommittee on 10 July 1975 to discuss the mail. survey
program. I told him that the letter was being finalized but had not laeen 25X1
submitted to the Director. I hoped that he would receive it in a day or two.

office of Jack Marsh, Counsellor to the President, to find out. if she
had come up with anything on the status of the U-2 transcripts. She
apologized and said she had forgotten to do this but would check on it
right away and be back in touch.
16. (Confidential - LLM) Called John Ford, Iiou.se Armed.
Services Committee staff, and told him that the best advice I had. received
was to translate the exchange of correspondence with the Somalis into
Arabic. Ford said he still would like to have the letters translated into
Russian and I told hi~:n we would still plan on providing the substantive
briefings early Thursday morning but that I would call first for
confirmation of their availability.
