5. (Internal Use Only - RJK) Received a call front Andrew Mayer,
Congressional Research Service, Library of Congress, who said that, ~ i.n
connection with a study on Greece and Turkey his staff was doing, the cluestic
of location of certain kinds of intelligence installations had ar.i.sen. -After
checking with Robert. Hepworth, Congressional Support Officer, OCI, I called
Mayer back and told him that these locations were very sensitive and: had t:o
be protected from public disclosure. Mayer understood. perfectly and appre-
ciated our effort to assist him.
6. (Confidential - BAA) Donna Larsen, SecreL-ary to ,Tack Marsh,
Counsellor to the President, called and said the U-2 transcripts were
still in General Scowcroft's office. They did not xealize the length of
the project but are working on them as fast as they can. She said she
will let me know when they are finished.

Committee staff, and advised him
Hogan asked about the staff memoran uin t at was ..:
mentioned in today's papers concerning 1Vir. Colby and the 1-t.ockefeller
Commission. I said I didn't know the story on that but that the Commission
did say in their report that overall they thought it was best to have anon-
career man in the top job. I added they also thought that Bonze part of tlae
budget should be made public. Hogan felt this was terrible. IIe said. as a.
matter of fact it probably is a blessing during these difficult days to have a
career man who can understand the situation better. I heartily agreed.

Knoche, I contacted Jack Boos and Searle Field of the House Select Committee
staff regarding the presence of a Committee investigator at the
offices (see Memorandum for the Record).

Director General Walters to Chairman Charles H. Wilson (D. , Calif. )
in response to the request for the Director to appear to discuss the
mail intercept program:
Shortly thereafter, George Gould, Staff Director of the
Subcommittee, called to confirm Chairman Wilson's request that t-h:e
Director appear on 10~ Juiy 1975 at 1000 hours, as previously discussed,
The hearing will be in. executive session and the Director may present
an opening statement :if he so desires.

staff member far Senator Bill Brack (R. , Tenn, ), and discussed his request
which was referred to me, by J. Sourwine, Chief Counsel, r,='
Subcommittee on Internal Security. George stated that Senator Broclc i~y
concerned by the attacks on CIA and wants to mare a brie E .floor stateme nt
on the KGB and the threat it represents. He asked if we could provide
him any items from open sources showing KGB penetrations, such as the
Willy Brandt case. I gave him the figure o.f 390 recruitment attempts
against Americans referred to by the Director in his testimony on
5 March 1975 before the Abzug Subcommittee on Government Inforn7ation
and Individual Rights of House Government Operations. I told him that I
