-Iichael McLeod, Henry Casso, and ar Rose. on the staff of the Senate
Agriculture Committee, on the Soviet grain situation. I advised them that:
the briefing should be txcated as classified but should they need to use
any of our discussiorL they could checkc with OLC. Two pertinent questio~~s
from them were whether the Agency got together with. the Department of
Agriculture- on our grain estimates anal the validzty of the ZOO million ton
Soviet-grain requirement. ~ :fielded these questions very adroitly.

to Senator ~Nalter Mondale (D, , Minn. ), and explained that I did.n't
know what she wanted us to do with the constituent inquiry she had sent us
since Senatax Monda:le was a rxiember of the Senate Select Committee. She
thought we should be answering the part on the NaT.ional Parlc Service, I
explained that this should be forwarded to the Department of the Interior, She
.said to simply send the material back to her attention.
3. (Unclassii`ied -PLC) Met with Al Tarabochia, Chief,. Investigator:
on the staff of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Internal Security, and returxied
to him the study "Est:udio Sobre Las Relaciones F.ntre F1 Partido Socialists.
Puertorriqueno Y El Movimiento Obxero" which related Communist influences
in Puerto Rico. I explained that our people saw no significant foreign
intelligence interest to warrant the Subcommittee's publication of the study _
in Spanish. I suggested that he should' contact the FBI since it appeared to
be more a matter of internal security.

Portugal vas based can unclassified information tivhich Tarabochia had
given to Les V~Thitten, Andexson's reporter. The information carne mostly
fromunclassified reports by the Coast Guard provided to the Gomrriittee,
Taraboc'riia wanted to make it clear that he does not have a. close relationship
with ~Yhitttn, however, he felt that the story should be told and knev~ that
~Yhitten would want to publish it,
