The Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with
Respect to Intelligence has requested "all material pertaining to contacts
between officials of the CIA and members of the committee or the staff
of the so-called Long Committee (the Subcommittee on Administrative
Practice and Procedure of the Senate Judiciary Committee), in regard
to the Committee's investigation in 1965 into the use of mail covers
and the investigative techniques by Federal agencies".
We are enclosing that material with the- understanding that you will
review it and determine what is appropriately releaseable and forward
it to Mr. William B. Bader of the Senate Select Committee . We will
advise Mr. Bader to this effect.
