Briefing requested by Rick Gilmore -
Plans to go on a trip to USSR at
end. of November (24) which is a tentative date
but would like to have a short briefing at this
time. Set up tentative date of 14 or 17 November
for briefing. Would like information on the
implications as far as Soviet consumption and dis-
tribution plans, assessment of Soviet plans and
objectives for purchasing of U.S. grain, feed
grain and wheat shortages and position on how this
position will fit into the rest of the economic
plan. Also would like something on the Communist
implications affecting U. S.

Department of State has not been told
of these tentative plans as of this time, but will
