I Received a call from Karen Patterson, Staff Assistance Aff r ? ;froo, who said.she had a letter addressed to Mr. Colby from Chairman Thomas E. Morgan of the Committee and also some classified biographies that she found in her safe to be picked up. Arrangements were made with the courier branch for immediate pick up of the letter and classified biographies. The two . biographic reports were returned to this office where they were destroyed and the letter was also delivered to this office. 2. Called Bill Hogan, Counsel, House Armed Services Committee, in response to his earlier request and gave him the cites of two bills introduced by Representative Michael Harrington (D., Mass. ) in the 93rd Congress to establish oversight committees for CIA and intelligence operations (H. Res. 1393 and H. Res.. 552). The request was for Chairman Lucien N. Nedzi (D., Mich.). 3. I I Mary Ann in the office of Contracting Officer, called and said that they had received a call from a newsman concerning the Agency contract on technological developments in foreign transportation (see Journal Item #13, 8 January). I told her to refer the call to Angus Thuermer. 4. I I Nora Stam, Legislative Aide, office of Representative Brock Adams (D., Wash. ), called requesting information on hearings or executive sessions which took place last summer regarding CIA involvement in Chile, to be used in reply to a letter from a constituent. I suggested that she forward the letter to us and we would prepare a suggested reply for their office. STAT 5. I I Received a call from Jack Ticer, Chief Clerk, Senate Armed Services Committee, who asked that the copy of the NID from Friday, 10 January 1975, be delivered again to his office tomorrow morning when the daily NID is delivered.
