MEMORANDUM FOR: Executive Officer, DD/A
The following facts and figures are offered in response
to your request for meaningful statistics to show the OJCS
workload:
a. OJCS operates two computer centers containing 9
major computers which provide Batch, Interactive,
and Online Data Base Management services. Their
workloads are as follows:
(1) 1580 Batch jobs per day ranging from seconds
to hours in processing time;
(2) 1450 Interactive (Time Sharing) terminals
sessions per day by 1800 personnel with
authorized terminal access.
b. OJCS also satifies requests for programming services
primarily from DDA (55%), DDS&T (21%) and DDI (21%),
as follows:
(1) 830 requests received per year taking from
less than 30 days and $5,000 to more than
90 days and $25,000 to complete.
c. OJCS provides support to production applications by:
(1) maintaining 19 online data bases containing
750 million characters for terminal access by
580 authorized personnel;
(2) each month running 1200 programs in 130
applications which produce 1500 reports
distributed to 29 Offices throughout the
Agency.

d. OJCS provides EDP training for all Agency personnel
as follows:
(1) In FY-75, 1493 students completed 19,402
student-days of classroom instruction in
70 separate course offerings.
(2) In FY-75, 264 students completed 45
video taped self study courses.
