DIARY NOTES
DD/S 21 July 1964
1. At the Executive Committee Meeting this morning General Carter
emphasized that no one is exempt from attending the security reindoctrina-
tion lecture. (We should follow up on this to see whether the Office of Se-
curity is being aggressive enough in cleaning up this program.)
2. Mr. Kirkpatrick called to inquire whether we had come to any con-
clusion about making a contribution to the Metropolitan Police Boys' Club.
I told him that, in my opinion, we should not. We are not dependent upon
this kind of contribution for Metropolitan Police cooperation, and if we make
a contribution to this fund then many other charities would feel that they have
a right to expect similar treatment.

3. telephoned to say that Mr. Kirkpatrick had set
up a meeting in his office at 1400 hours on Friday, 24 July, with Mr.
Horwitz and Lt. Colonel Greenleaf of the Department of Defense to discuss
communications service in the Department. I told him that I would make
arrangements to attend.
