1. 1 had several conversations with Matt Baird and Mr. Kirkpatrick about
25X1A2g the Intelligence Studies Group going to this week end. In view of the

2. Matt Baird is seeking my help in obtaining the designation of a substitute
for Bob Amory to speak at the various war colleges this fall. I told him that I
would take this up with General Carter and give him some guidance soon.
3. dvised me that will be prepared to depart for 25X1A9a
on 16 June if the Medical Staff gives him a clearance. If not, 25X1A9a
will be sent to fill the support planning position.
4. reported that he had made arrangements with GSA to provide
a man on a full-time basis to clean the Medical Staff area. He will be reimbursed,
which is standard practice in other Government agencies having comparable instal-
lations.
5. I emphasized to my desire to have some procedure worked
out whereby key personnel could be paged in the cafeteria or staff dining room in
case they are urgently needed.
6, was in to report that he had just returned from the two-week
Counter- surgency course at Four JOT's, who are
also reserve officers, were in this course, and John thought they were conspicuously
outstanding in comparison to the rest of the group.
7. I talked with and he has reluctantly agreed
to put Ted in the Procurement Division of the Office of Logistics as a contracting
officer.
8. Matt Baird telephoned to say that the Covert Action Staff wanted
and that DD/P wanted Matt to take I told him to let Lou go to the CA
Staff but to wait for a few days on Lester until I give him further information. (I have
asked Shef Edwards to expedite his check on this particular case.)

9. I talked to Emmett Echols, Matt Baird, and
- a candidate for the JOT Program and the son of formerly
with G2 of the Army. (I want to discuss this with General Carter before making a
