2. Sheff Edwards telephoned to say that he was reluctant to ha 25X1A9a
safe house man on his T/0, unless the DD/A considered it essential,
that it is not essential and that he will make other arrangements.
3. Dr. Tietjen reports that we have another case of serious illness in 25X1A6a
and that based upon cables which have been received he recommended immediate trans-
fer of the individual to the States. He will give more details when they are known.

1. I needled on PRC Regulation -and hope to have it to Mr. Wolf
by the end of the wee M.
5. I approved of the publication of Cep. Regulations Numbers
on the subject of "Contacts with Non-Governmental Individuals within the United
States."

6. I talked with about his travel order and later had Mrs. 25X1A9a
from Central Processing up to see me. We will get this straightened out with-
in the next few days. I believe that since definitely wants to take 25X1A9a
his wife with him and has been assured by the Director that this is all right it is
better to send him to Europe on a "permanent change of stations'; if his return is
indicated later, another "permanent change of station" order can be issued. If the
order should be made up on the basis of "temporary duty", transportation for depend-
ents would become extremely difficult, and I think, in view of the explanation given 25X1A9a
to me by that we are perfectly justified in sending him on a "perm-
