I said our people were working on this and it was possible that we would regard it as ignment but I could give him no assurances at this time. Percy . , Ill. ), about the Senator's inquiry on the role of the Soviets in the Middle East oil situation. We discussed the possibility of getting together with the Senator for a briefing and Cohen suggested that, if possible, we provide the Senator with a briefing paper in view of his very e had ht h w oug tight schedule between now and Christmas. I told Cohen I t n for d thi s o such a paper and we woud arrange to get it to him. I passe ODDI, who will get the paper to us. 6.1 Met with Miss Marsha Matt, House Appro- priations Committee and received from her copies of the Committee report and letter to Secretary of Deferiaa concerning shipments of foreign made/ foreign purchased private-owner vehicles at government expense. C 1DDM&S, has been advised. 7. Met with Chairman Lucien Nedzi (D. , Mil and brielea aim on recent information concerning metro- politan police departments and Agency utilization of newspapermen. 25X1 Chairman Nedzi said he would appreciate additional detailed information on the number of persons involved and financial arrangements concerning the newsmen.
