Aeronautical and Space Sciences Committee, of the failure of the Soviet's
second launch of a Salyut space station on 29 July.

5. 1 1 Received a call from Mr. Pete Murphy,
House Appropriations Committee, who told me that he has made an
appointment for 9:30 Wednesday morning, 2 August, in Room 2234 of the
Rayburn House Office Building with Representative Sidney Yates (D. , Ill. )
for the meeting with Mr. Bruce Clarke, D/OSR, or members ff
concerning the cost of Soviet naval vessel construction. "OSR, 25X1
has been advised.
6. (Unclassified - JGO) At the request of Mr. John Warner, OGC, I
talked to Norman Cornish, Deputy Staff Director, Foreign Operations and
Government Information Subcommittee, House Committee on Government
Operations, concerning the Committee report of testimony by Mr. William
Rehnquist on 28 and 29 June 1971. Mr. Cornish indicated that the prepared
statement presented by Mr. Rehnquist had been omitted from the report and
that the Committee does not have a copy.
7. (Unclassified - LLM) Left a message for Jay Sourwine, Chief
Counsel, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, to call me regarding his
inquiry of yesterday concerning the temporary jailing in Cuba of a pilot of
a highjacked airplane.
