25X1 1. J. Sourwine called about the material I
had provided him on the US-USSR basketball game and asked about the
use of qualifying words such as allegedly, probably, etc. , with respect
to the intelligence connections of certain people mentioned in our paper.
Sourwine: said he would like to know whether these statements were made
on a hiarA intelligence evaluation. I told him I would check with

2. In response to her call, met with
Dorothy Fosdick, Permanent Investigations Subcommittee staff, and
received from her a study on the Soviet economy written by one Vadim D.
Meniker. Richard Perle, of the Subcommittee staff, interviewed Meniker
on his recent trip and found him the most worthwhile of the many "experts"
he dealt with. Perle also noted that Meniker has outstanding credentials.
Miss Fosdick requested a translation of the study to English and noted that
it is the staff's opinion that our people will find the study useful. I told her
I would relay her request.
3. Met with Representative William Bray
(R., Ind.) an gave Kim a copy of The Penkovskiy Papers which was promised
to him yesterday during his visit to Headquarters. Bray thanked me again
for a very enjoyable visit.
4. Met with William Savage, in the office of
Representative James Jones (D. , Okla.) and delivered a copy of World Oil '71
Facts and Figures requested yesterday. Savage told me that Jones (a fresh-
man) has been assigned to both Armed Services and Interior and Insular
Affairs Committegv,,
