(Confidential - GLC) J. Sourwine, Chief Counsel, Senate Internal about him in an article dated 23 April and has another column on him which is about to be published. According to information availableh frwine, this man is making statements critical of U. S. policy towards I land Sourwine would like to know something more about him. 5. (Secret - GLC) Bob Taylor, Security, called to say he has been asked to give a security briefing to some people in the Department of Agri- culture who will have access to some of our compartmented information. 25X1 I xpects the question of discussions of this material by Agriculture with the Agriculture Committees on the Hill to come up and asked for any guidance we could give him on this. I tol I thought this was something that could not be limited at the congressional level and suggested that the matter be taken up on a substantive basis through the USIB mechanism since it is an integral part of our sharing of this type of information with other Government departments and agencies. 6. (Unclassified - JMM) Met with Ed Braswell and John Goldsmith, Senate Armed Services Committee staff, who told me of Chairman Stennis' rapid progress and said he would probably welcome an invitation to visit Headquarters for lunch with the Director some time next week. 7. (Confidential - JMM) Talked to Frank Slatinshek, Chief Counsel, House Armed Services Committee, who reminded me of the interest of Chairman Lucien Nedzi, Intelligence Subcommittee, in: a. A comparison of the various past estimates on North Vietnamese and Vietcong OB (see Journal of 18 April 1973).
