9.1 GLC) Met with Guy McConnell, Senate Appropriations
Committee staff, and left with him General Walter's letter of 3 August 1973
pertaining to a withdrawal from the Reserve.
I also briefed McConnell on several recent developments including
submarine construction in the Soviet Union, the status of Soviet grain crop,
Soviet testing of advanced model ICBMs, and Soviet silo construction. I
also left with McConnell for the information of the Committee staff two copies
of the OSR publication "Problems in Comparing US and Soviet Warships by
Designation. "
In response to his earlier request I left McConnell an additional copy
of the "Guide to CIA Statutes and Law. "
10. GLC) Left with Jack Ticer, Senate Armed Services
Committee staff, two copies of the publication "Problems in Comparing US and
Soviet Warships by Designation" for the use of the Committee staff and an
additional copy of the "Guide to CIA Statutes and Law" in response to Ticer's
request.
I also obtained from Ticer the GPO jacket number (99-Z75) for Colby's
confirmation hearin s which have not yet been sent to GPO for final printing.
I then advise Acquisitions, of the jacket number and asked her
to "ride the jacket" for 700 copies of this document.
