(Secret - GLC) Met with Guy McConnell, Senate Appropriations Committee staff, and provided him with a copy of a DCI Congressional Briefing sheet dated 10 October 1973 on the Middle East and a summary of today's situation reports on the situation. I retrieved from McConnell briefing papers which I gave him yesterday. 6. (Confidential - GLC) In response to his request, I met with David Martin, ,Senate Subcommittee on Internal Security. He referred to the fact that the Soviet World Peace Congress will meet again later this month. He is interested in knowing whether we have any unclassified information on past operations of the congress or whether we know of the existence of any such material. I told him I would check on this and let him know. Martin made available to me copies of his proposed Committee release entitled "Soviet Disarmament Propaganda and the Strange Case of Marshal Grechko. " He said he thought would be interested in this and he would appreciate any comments or corrections whichir any of our people might care to make on this text. 25X1 25X1 7.
