1? In response to her query, I told Dorothy
Fosdick, ena or Jac cson's Senate Permanent Subcommittee on
Investigations staff, that the picture of a Soviet ICBM in today's
New York Times appears to be a SS-9, but the article refers to it as a
new ICBM. I said we hoped for further information which would
clarify this matter in the near future.
2.1 Office of Finance,
in response to my earlier request, said that they had established
contact with Treasury to determine what flexibility Treasury had
in avoidin Publication of sums paid by Treasury into the CIA Retirement
Fund. recognizes the necessity for pressing on with this
in the interest of facilitating OMB clearance of our legislative package,
which includes retirement financing.

Jackson's Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, called
and asked if we would provide them with the identification of the missile
which appears in a photograph in today's New York Times and was
involved in a parade in Moscow.
25X1 4. Jay Sourwine, Chief Counsel, Senate Subcommitt
on Interna ecurit , called referencing a CSCI 3743495, on the subject
o e international communist front organizations and communist societies
25X1 and organizations and a covering letter from which lie had
found in the files of the late Ben Mandel, formerly in charge of research
for the Subcommittee. Sourwine would like to have a copy if the document
has been updated and, if it has not been updated, he strongly recommends
that this be done in light of its value.
