(Internal Use Only - JGO) Received a call from Herb Roback, Staff Director, Legislation and Military Operations SubcommittPe_ use Government,_Qperations Committee, concerning the letter of 15 March from Representative Edward Koch. addressed to Chairman Holifield, the Director, and Mr, McGeorge Bundy, President of the Ford Foundation. It is Roback's opinion that the Bundy letter to Koch categorically denying any involvement of the Ford Foundation personnel in the NYPD determination to seek Agency guidance "as to the best system for analyzing and evaluating intelligence" is somewhat of an overreaction. I told Roback we would touch base once again with the NYPD and be back in touch with him tomorrow. 12. (Confidential - JGO) Met with Dr. John Brady, House Foreign Affairs Committee staff, who told me that a press conference has been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 for the release of the latest study by Representatives Murphy (D. , Ill.) and Steele (R. , Conn.) on the overseas narcotics problem. He told me in confidence that he is also meeting later in the day with Murphy for possible additional changes to the study. has been advised. 13.
