Approved For Release 2006/09/25 : CIA-RDP75B00380R000200090074-4 Journal - Office of Legislative Counsel Friday - 13 July 1973 Page 2 5. (Secret - GLC) Went by to debrief Jim Gehrig, on the staff of the Senate Aeronautical and Space Sciences Committee, on his compartmented clearances in view of his planned trip to Moscow and also to give him a defensive briefing. Gehrig informed me that Intourist had advised him that there were no available reservations so he has cancelled his plans to leave next Friday. He said if his trip should be rescheduled, he would give us a call. I did not get him to sign debriefing sheets, therefore; but I did review the highspots of a defensive briefing for him. 6. (Confidential - GLC) Left with Guy McConnell, on the staff of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Mr. Colby's letter to Chairman McClellan suggesting that Messrs. McConnell and Calloway, Counsel for the Committee, visit some of our field stations during the August recess. I also left with McConnell several charts on the intelligence community. 7. (Internal Use Only - LLM) Called Arnie Smith, Senate Appropria- tions Committee staff, and told him that Laura Matx, from Senator Ervin's Select Committee, had just called requesting for the Subcommittee a copy of I I since the Appropriations Committee had recalled the copy they had been using (this SC number identifies Volume I of "Documentation Provided by CIA, 1 June 1973"). Smith said the Committee had not recalled its copy and that he would call Matx and let us know if he hadn't straightened it out. At the close of the day, it was confirmed with Matx that Smith had contacted her and straightened the matter out. 8. (Secret - LLM) In followup to the commitment I had made yesterday concerning information on SAT, called Bill Jones, Staff Director, Subcommittee on Government Activities, House Government Opprations Committee, and told him Mr. Houston and I would be glad to drop by and brief Chairman Brooks on the matter at his convenience. Jones said he doubted it could be arranged today since Brooks was leaving for Texas and that he would contact us early next week if Brooks wanted to follow up on the offer. I then confirmed to Jones that the two stockholders of record were nominal with no beneficial interests, that there had been an outside appraisal in establishing the sales price, and the disposition of the proceeds would be as directed by our Appropriations committees.
