Approved For Release 2006/09/25 : CIA-RDP75B00380R000200090044- 18 February 1972 Mr. Robert W. Koch Prior to receipt of your recent letter, we made a review of our records looking for mention of the so-called "Liberator" pistol at the request of the Guide Lamp Division, the manufac- turers. No further information was found. At that time we learned that the Raritan Arsenal transferred three of the pistols to CIA in 1959. One was retained for their museum, and the other two transferred elsewhere. I can only assume that the Raritan Arsenal might have some record of the disposition of any balance on hand at the end of World War II. Today I reviewed the classified file of "Operation ZEBRA" which lists equipment supplied to the French Fotc of the Interior, the "resistance." There is no mention of the "Liberator" or any .45 caliber weapon other than the, Colt .45. The other weapons were Pistol .380 Service Revolver and Carbine Caliber .30 111. Marcel Vigneras was a Lieutenant in the Army assigned to OSS in 1943. We have no current addresses of former OSS pper- sonnel. There is an organization with its headquarters in New York, Veterans of OSS, 460 Park Avenue, New York, Now York 10022, which has attempted to keep in touch with former members. They may be able to provide you with an address if Vigneras has been in touch with them. Sincerely Executive Secretary Approved For Release 2006/09/25 : CIA-RDP75B00380R000200090044-7
