25X1A Approved For Release 2003/09/30: CIA-RDP75BOO38OR JOURNAL OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL Friday - 20 July 1973 25X1A 1. At the request of Carl Duckett, DDS&T, I cancelled the briefing scheduled for 3:00 p. m. this afternoon for Senator Thomas McIntyre (D. , N.H.). I told Miss Ellen Adams, the Senator's personal secretary, that unfortunately we are unable to reschedule a time at this moment but I will talk to her Monday morning and see what can be arranged. Duckett has been advised. 2. The meeting scheduled for 11:00 a. m. today with Dr. John Brady, House Foreign Affairs Committee, and was put over until some time next week. 25X1A Received a call from Bob O'Regan, Staff Assistant to Representative Dante Fascell (D. , Fla. ), who asked that I drop by during the day on Monday. 4. In response to his request of yesterday, I called Representative Lucien Nedzi, Chairman of the Intelligence Subcommittee, House Armed Services Committee, concerning the alteration of tape recordings. 25X1A In brief, I utilized information provided by I TSD, to the effect that tapes can be altered quite easily by addition or deletion of material. I described to him some of the methods that can be used in checking tapes. I told him that there was an extensive article in this morning's Washington Post on page 24 on this same subject. This satisfied Nedzi's present needs. 5. Talked to Mike Finley, Inter-American Affairs Subcommittee staff, House Foreign Affairs Committee, and told him that we have no evidence to support training camps for discontented Brazilians in Chile. In keeping with the information provided by WH Division, I told Finley that charges and counter-charges have been flowing back and forth on this and related subjects for some time between the two countries. No further action is required. See Journal of 12 July 1973. 25X1A Approved For Release 2003/09/30: CIA-RDP75B00380R000 - C, 8/15/2003
