Operations of 9 May 1973 to Gordon Nease and Ed Braswell, Senate
Armed Services Committee staff; Ralph Preston, House Appropriations
Committee staff; Frank Slatinshek, House Armed Services Committee
staff, and Herb Roback, House Government Operations Committee staff.
I advised each of the offices later on when the statement was released
to the press by Senator McClellan.

for his background information: "Open Appropriations for CIA" (Unclassified,
25 April 1973); "The Espionage Laws" (Unclassified, undated); and '!The

Services Committee staff, and delivered to him the responses to the
questions posed in the Committee hearings on S. 1494 on CIA retirement quota
legislation.
10. In response to a call from Frank 25X1
Slatinshek, Chief Counsel, House Armed Services Committee, I met
with Chairman Nedzi, Intelligence Subcommittee, concerning the Agency
hearing for Friday, 11 May 1973. See Memorandum for the Record.
11. Received a call from Sam Goldberg, 25X1
in the office of Senator Charles Mathias (R. , Md.) who requested an
informal briefing for the Senator next week, if ible, on the recent
changes in the Soviet hierarchy. ossDD/I, has been 25X1
advised.
