8. Dick Schultz, Associate Chief Counsel, House
Internal security ommi ee, called to check on the status of the Committee's
request concerning (see Journal of 21 September 1972).

CDC, has been advised.
25X1 9? Met with Bill Short, House Armed Services
Committee staff, who told me that the back-view screen is stored in the Armed
25X1A Services Committee storeroom and should be available for our use on
Committee briefings. OCI, has been advised.
25X1 10. Accompanied ONE, to a debriefing
of Pat Holt, Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, on his most recent
South American trip. There are no followups from the debriefing. In a
separate conversation Holt told me that the hearings of the Church Subcommittee
on Multinational Corporations will not begin until after the elections in Chile.
In any event he does not believe that the staffing will be ready before March.
Mr. Shackley, WH Division, has been advised.
25X1 11.1 1 Met with Joseph Gimelli, in the office of the Official
Reporters to House Committees, and arranged with him for the secure handling
of the transcript of the Director's briefing of tomorrow with House Appropriations
Defense and Military Construction Subcommittees.

12, I alked to Wayne Birdsall, of the reporting firm
of Ward & Paul, and told him that the Director's appearance before Senate
Foreign Relations Committee on 17 January has been cancelled.
25X1 13.1 Met with Art Kuhl, Senate Foreign Relations
Committee staff, who told me that although the Chairman will be back in town
late tomorrow evening, there is no indication when the world roundup briefing
might be"rescheduled.
