MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Survival Radio
1. A meeting was held at
DDP, Headquarter's 25X1A
Building 4 February 1971 on Survival Radios.
Office of Communications Division
(CD) attended the meeting.
2. The purpose of this meeting was to improve
the present survival radio, ASR-100, and to discuss
a replacement radio for the ASR-100A.
3. Improvement for ASR-100:
a. All ASR 100's be upgraded to ASR-100A
b. Solid battery pack to replace pen-light batteries.
4. It was agreed that all ASR-100A's be phased out in
the next three to five years and be replaced with a better
radio. The technical features of the replacement radio
was discussed in detail.
