SUBS-ECT: 'Functions and Responsibilities
Ct.noral. This meinorandunl defines and updates the functions
and re:;ponsibilitics of the NRO Program D -- an oiler atiny clement
of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
Functions and Responsibilities.
The Director, NRO Program D will:
a. Arrange for Air Force support to aircraft and other National
Reconnaissance Program (NRP) efforts assigned to the Director, CIA
Reconnaissance Programs in accordance witl~ plans and concepts ap-
proved by the Director of the National Reconnaissance Office (DNRO).
This support includes all personnel, logistical, facilities, equipn ent,
developmental, and operational activities.
c. Manage and direct the development, test, and 'acquisition of
the TAGBOARD reconnaissance drone for the DNRO.'
d. Direct the Air Force U-2 SPO activities and provide the
interface for joint. USAF-CIA NRO programs.
e. Provide the focal point for Air Force. participation in and
support of the U-2R project. ..
