2. On 5 November 1971, the Edwards AFB detachment
deployed a U-2 to Eielson AFB, Alaska. The aircraft departed
Elmendorf on 6 November 1971. and recovered at Edwards AFB
3. Through 4 August 1971, IDEALIST TACKLE missions
continued to operate in accordance with the 40 Committee restriction
that there would be no approach closer than 20 nautical miles to the
Chinese mainland. Subsequent to that date, in response to new
directives all miss'
