SUBJECT: Automobile Accident-
1. The facts of the accident of 12 April 1973 which
occurred at 11th and Vernon Street, Arlington, Virginia, as
described in the attached file, are such as to make the Govern-
ment liable under the Federal Tort Claims Act.
2. Three separate claims in the amounts of $400,
$718. 25 and $79. 98 are forwarded for your action:

employee of this Agency, was riving her privately-o
wned
car on Agency business at the time she was involved in the
accident which occurred at the intersection of North Vernon
and North 11th Street, Arlington, Virginia on 12 April 1973.
Accordingly, the Government is assuming whatever responsi-
bility there may be on her behalf because of the accident.
I have enclosed the necessary forms for making a
claim under the Federal Tort Claims Act, Please complete
them and return them to my office at your convenience.
Also, please send copies of two repair estimates.

is an employee of this Agency and was driving her
Privately-owned car on Agency business at the time of the
accident which occurred on 12 April 1973. Accordingly, the
Government has assumed the responsibility for this matter and
when payment is made, we will send a check and the necessary
release to you.
It is my understanding that the total claim for property
damage is $925 but that your subrogation claim is in the amount
of $825, the $100 difference being the Palmer's deductible. STATINTL
