'Red China Allows
American to Visit
Imprisoned Son,

have .given permission for Mrs.
Ruth Redmond, 64, Yonkers,
N. Y., to make ;another visit to,
her son, held there as a pris-
oner.
She will be Permitted to enter
Red China sometime in mid-'
October to see her son, 43-
year-old Hugh F. Redmond Jr.,
who is serving a i e sen" end
in a Shp,ngJprison.
Red Cross President Alfred
M. Gruenther skid he had re
ceived word from the Red Cross
Society of the Chinese Peoples
Democratic Republic granting
Mrs Redmond's request to make
another visit. She last saw her
son in his China prison in 1958.
Mr. Redmond has been held
on unspecified Communi,,st
charges of espionage since the
orean War.
His mother made the journey
see him in 1958 along with
he mothers of two other Amer-
cans also prisoners of the
hinese Communists.
