Athens, To Vima, 12 Jan 67
CPYRGHT
FOIAb3b1
Captain Papageorgopoulos, one of the accused in the ASPIDA case,
charged during the 11 January 1967 session of the court trial that
"...We had the courage and vigor to tangle even with CIA, the American
KYP....It is she [CIA] who had us in prison today. We fought against
the American CIA and we will. prove all this with evidence.... We fought
the Extreme Right because it is composed of frantic extremists. They
.were the ones who cooperated with CIA...." Georgopoulos also charged
that General Natsinas, former KYP director, had diverted funds for his
personal use, claimed he also had data to prove that, and that this.`'
was another reason "we were clapped in jail."
