F.C.C. Hires Man Criticized
In'Senate's Otepka Inquiry
WASHINGTON Nov. 13 (AP)

under fire last year has been;
hired as a $17,000-a-year trial
lawyer for the Federal Cosn
munications Commission, a coon-
mission spokesman said today.
I. He is John F. Reilly, who quit
his State Department post in'
November, 1963, after the Sen
!ate Internal Security Subcom-1
mittee charged that he had
harassed another State Depart-
ment employe, Otto F. Otepka,
for testifying before the com-
mittee on security lapses in the
department. -
The committee said Mr. Reilly,
among other things, had in-i
stalled a listening device In Mr.
Otepka's office. Mr. Reilly wus
Deputy Assistant Secretary of,
State for Security. Mr. Otepka,I
a security officer, was dismissed
for insubordination.
The commission spokesman
said Mr. Reilly was hired by the
;agency on Sept. 1, and works
for the hearing division of the
(commission's Broadcast Bureau.
