CALL FOR HELMS RESIGNATION
MURPHY MARTIN: "Senator Wayne Morse says Central Intelli-
gence Agency Director Richard Helms should resign. Morse says
Helms had no business writing a letter to the St. Louis Globe
Democrat. The letter praised an editorial attacking Senator J.
William Fulbright. But Senator Mike Mansfield disagrees with
Morse. Mansfield says Helms admitted the letter was a mistake
and Mansfield said, 'If Senators had to resign after they make
mistakes, there wouldn't be anyone in the Senate.
