About 500 Indonesians are now studying in the United States.? HardoJo said these' (Summary) Djakarta, 14 July--The decision of the'government to temporarily stop the sending of trainees to the United States should be hailed and promoted (?as it) solves the problem of affiliation ties between Indonesian-American universities and institutes of higher education. This was stated by Hardojo,, member of the house commission for'youth and student functional groups, in reaction to a government decision to temporarily stop the dispatch of. Indonesian trainees to the United States.'.?Hardojo said that the government'?s decision in fact came too late but should nevertheless be warmly hailed since it constitutes a direct answer to the increased brutalities,of the U.S.'imperialists. Hardojo mentioned the intervention of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in the Permesta/PRRI\rebellions,'the BPS affairs, and the most recent plot (also staged !by CIA)to assassinate Indonesia's top leaders. I,Hardojo said that the temporary halt of the sending of trainees to the United States is not comparable to U.S. brutalities. The government should sever. all ties with the_United States in the field of education. In view of these problems, Indonesia should promote its decision to stop sending trainees to the United States by way of immediately (?dissolving) the affiliation ' I d nesian and American universities.
