BILL LITTAUE : "The new Director of the Central Intelligence
Agency, Richard`Helms, came under sharp attack in the Senate for
publicly applauding a St. Louis newspaper editorial.
"The paper described Senator J. William Fulbrigh.t as crafty
and criticized h, .s proposal to bring the CIA under scrutiny of the
Foreign Relations Committed. Helms reportedly has apologized to
Fulbright and wll appear before the Committee tomorrow."
