The Oregon Democrat is unhappy because Helms lauded a newspaper editorial which attacked Senator Fulbright, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. rolms already has apologized to Fulbright and his Committee for writing the letter which endorsed a St. Louis Globe Democrat editorial describing Fulbright as 'crafty' Fulbright himself doesn't go along with Morse's demand, neither does Senate Dem- ocratic Leader Mike Mansfield, he says Helms made a mistake and he faced up to it. And as Mansfield put it, we all mistakes, ~f we had to resign when we make mistakes, the whole Senate would have to resign.
