NUCLEAR POWERPLANT HAZARDS
Joint Committee on Atomic Energy: Committee eon-
eluded its hearings on proposed legislation providing
Government indemnity against nuclear powerplant haz-
ards, with testimony from Kenneth E. Black, National
Board of Fire Underwriters; Stoddard Stevens, partner,
Sullivan & Cromwell, New York;. and Andrew Bicmil-
ler, legislative representative, CIO-AFL,
FOREIGN REACTOR DEVELOPMENT
Joint Cornmiuec on Atomic Energy: Committee met in
executive session to discuss foreign reactor development.
Witnesses heard at today's meeting were as follows: Her-
bert Scoville and Col. Frank Val ' both of the CIA;
A. Tammaro, Assistant enema Manager for Research
and Industrial Development, W. K. Davis, Director,
Division of Reactor Development, C. H. Reichardt,
Director, Division of Intelligence, and John A. Hall,
Director, Division of International Affairs, all of the
Atomic Energy Commission; and Gerard C. Smith,
Office of the Secretary, and Philip Farley, both of the
State Department.
Committee will hold an executive session tomorrow
regarding the civilian reactor development program in
the U. S.
