Emmett J. , McCarthy, 52, an
employe of the Central Intelli-
gence agency since the end of
World War II, who died at his
home, 4201 Cathedral Ave. NW,
'Friday of a heart attack.
Mr. McCarthy was stationed
in Burma, China and India
during his CIA career. A veteran
of World War 11, he served in
Southeast Asia as a sergeant,
and was awarded the Bronze
Star medal.
A native of Butte, Mont., Mr.
McCarthy attended Carroll
College, Helena, Mont., and was
graduated from George Wash-
ington University here.
At the time of his death, Mr.
McCarthy, a widower, was
