Approved For Release 2 AN EXTORIA1 One 14,ead, L ess: in. the C THE CIA is to the Administration's foreign. intrigues and co ,.war strategy what the S.S. Department was to the Hitler Wehrmacht and its grand design for world conquest. It is the super-secret' ~Governmenit agency for conducting global 'Rpara-military warfare.'! In Latin,. America, in Africa, in Indonesia, in Southeast Asia,' its ..operatives are to be found at the center of all intrigues and cones spiracies for counterrevolutionary actions against sovereign gov- ernments of the new 'developin'g countries. The CIA has in its employ a high contingent of international bandits and cutthroats. They are practiced hands in the underworld crimes of subversion, sabotage and assassination. They are soulless men, hired guns, adventurers without principle or loyalty to any- :thing but their personal sulf-indulgence, and will perform any ~hameful deed if the price is right. Last Saturday, the obituary page of the national' press carried th'e notice that the CIA had been reduced by a head. It seems 'that ace operative Frank Gardiner Wisner. had, the day before, put a 20-guage shotgun to. his temple and pulled. the trigger. In one of those "now-it-can-be-told" confessionals, the CIA proudly leaked the disclosure, that it was none. other than Frank G. Wisner who master- minded the overthrow of the democratically elected Arbenz govern- .vent in Guatemala. in 1054.: That brazen act of counterrevolution not only nullified the democratically expressed -will of the people but it ushered in a.morrow of bloody political execution and mass' imprisonment of Communist and democratic forces, in, Guatemala,' The terror against the Guatemalan people. and the. total sup .'cession of popular liberties still persist after eleven years. This was the legacy of Frank..Wisner, CIA agent??par excellence and assassin: -of the liberty of the Guatemalan people, a'brother nation,in Latin% America: Surely south of Laurel, Mississippi Wisner's home town 'there will be.no mourning at the bar, and. no tears from -freedom hungry people on his bier either. Indeed, in the, end, he did unto himself that which he had done-, unto ethers.Selah.
