Lraan B. Kirkpatrick was born in 1916 in Roches

studies languages at the University of Geneva. Prior to World War
II he was eaoployed as Editor and Personnel Ma eager' for the United

with CAS in the European Theatre, Br. Kirkpatrick joined the

. Kirkpatrick resumed his position as an editor of U. S.
Report. In dasuuary 1947 he resigned to join the
Central Intelligence Agency. with the appointment of General
Walter Bedell Smith as Director of Central Intelligence in October
1950, Mr. Kirkpatrick was appointed an executive assistant. as is
