/// Nathan Fine, mathematics professor at Pennsylvania State University, will
deliver the Earle Raymond Hedrick Lectures at the Mathematical Association of
America meeting at Rutgers Aug. 29 - Sept. 1. His lectures, on "Basic Hyper-
g;eometric Series and Applications," will later be expanded and published in
a book by the American Mathematical Society. //k/ The Federal Aviation Agency
is reminding amateur rocket launchers that they are prohibited from firing
rockets into FAA controlled airspace, into clouds, within five miles of an
airport, at night, or within 1,500 ft. of any person or property not connected
with the launching. Full regulations are available from any FAA control tower,
flight service station or district office.

ESSA now lends support to the folk claim that you can predict bad weather by
the way your arthritis is acting up. According to H.E. Landsberg, director
of ESSA's Environmental Data Service, falling atmospheric pressure and rising
humidity can cause pains and swelling of joints in rheumatoid arthritis. ///
Col. Henry Mazur is the new chief of the U.S. Strike Command's System Program
Office for the Electronic Systems Division of the AF Systems Command at L.G.
Hanscom Field, Mass. He replaces Col. Donald Bowr7 now commander of the Elec-
tronic Systems Divisions Detachment 11 at Hickam AFB, Hawaii.
