5.1 GLC) Mr. Maury addressed an Intelligence
Production Course class on the Agency's relationships with the Congress
in a meeting which took place in the Senate Armed Services Committee's
room. Following Mr. Maury's talk Mr. Sam Goldberg, Administrative
Assistant to Senator Charles McC. Mathias (R., Md.) talked with the group
about yesterday's elections, how the Congress operates, and some of the
problems that are encountered in its relationships with the Executive Branch.
Both talks were very well received and a number of thoughtful questions
were raised by the class.
25X1 6. ~- GLC) Left with David Martin, Senate Internal Security
Subcommittee staff, a paper prepared by WH Division on the subject of
international terrorism. See Journal of 5 October 1972.
25X1 7. I I- GLC) Left with Joel Abramson and Colby King,
on Senator Charles Mc C- Mathias' (R., Md.) Senate Judiciary Committee,
25X1A Separation. of Powers Subcommittee staff, a copy of I paper
25X1A on heroin addiction. These staffers had expressed an interest in
paper when we briefed them on 6 November.
25X1 8. I I- GLC) Called Bill Woodruff, Senate Appropriations
Committee staff, and invited him to come to the Agency for a briefing on a
sensitive collection project and a look at the Cuban Missile Crisis exhibit
followed by lunch on Friday. Woodruff said his plans for Friday were uncertain
but if he could not make this briefing he would make every effort to come out
when we have a separate briefing for Ed Braswell, Senate Armed Services
Committee staff, later on.

9. GLC) Received a call from Fred Ladd, State Department.
He said they had received another inquiry from Canberra regarding the
briefing to be given to Bill Ashworth, Senate Foreign Relations Committee
staff. He said he was LDXing a copy of their response to us for our information.
